Views from Japan - Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara - The budda on the bottom is in Nara and was built in 757AD from wood! On the left is a photo of me climbing through a very small, narrow hole that supposedly gives you good luck and life if you can make it all the way through. I did! In Nara, deer roam freely, and you can see me feeding a couple of them. The most important photos are the men on the bottom right - the man with the headband is the rice shop owner who lived across from the family I stayed with. When I got locked out one day, he ran and got his phone and called my host family to let them know I was outside! The other man is a Sumu wrestler. This photo was taken at about 7am, the day I left Japan. If he hadn't have been woken up by my friend's mother, a very kind older woman, I am sure he would have punched me!
